45th Anniversary Campaign
The 2022-2023 Season is the 45th Anniversary of Dance Wisconsin. It has been the companies honor to be a constant presence in the south central Wisconsin's Dance/Art Community.
Resilience is the underlying theme of the season and is the name of our fall concert at the Overture Center of the Arts on October 8th and 9th. Resilience is a contemporary ballet concert and will be performed in Promenade Hall.
No other pre professional dance company in south central Wisconsin can say that they have produced 45 Nutcracker themed productions in a row except for Dance Wisconsin. From the theater at West High School in Madison in 1977 featuring now Artistic Director, JoJean Retrum as the Sugar Plum, to the once hallowed halls of the Civic Center on State Street to our current home at the Wisconsin Union Theater Shannon Hall, Dance Wisconsin has marched forward and performed. This year's Nutcracker will be performed on December 17th and 18th featuring the Dance Wisconsin Orchestra and the Monona Grove High School Singers.
Our season will conclude on April 15th and 16th with two matinee performances of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This original ballet by Chelsey Bradley was created on the Dance Wisconsin company in 2016 and many of this year's company dancers performed in that production as butterflies or ladybugs. They come full circle as they now take on the lead roles of the production.
YOU MAKE THIS ALL POSSIBLE!
